Process bounce / Authentification problem

Hello,

I have a problem with authentication fro phpList -> Dovecot. The logs are:

May 11 15:13:30 getfixxo2 dovecot: pop3-login: Aborted
login (aborted authentication): method=PLAIN, rip=217.16.3.50,
lip=151.236.60.149, TLS

The Dovecot authentication type was Pam with Unix mailboxes, now I changed it to MySQL with virtual mailboxes, no effect.

BTW YES, the username is correct (but as shown above, it doesn’t even try to authenticate).

I’ve tried with or without TLS, again no effect.

Recently had a similar problem, unable to login to a smtp server.

I spent 2 weeks chasing the problem…turned out our hosting company had made some changes trying to solve problems with infected spam trojans.

Once their admin “whitelisted” port 465…connection was made.

It’s worth asking you hosting admin.
