The release notes say that SAML support is now available—but it also seems that you have to install a plugin.
Isn’t that contradictory?
And where can I find good documentation on this?

The plugin is preinstalled in release 3.7.0
There should be a “Login with saml“ button below “Forgot Password”
The documentation may help with the configuration: plugin:simplesaml [phpList Resources]

I did an update from 3.6.x with an installed simplesaml plugin and it did not updated itself to the latest version of the plugin. I guess that’s what caused my confusion.
Do you know if this was testet with PHP 8.x?

I tested it on PHP 8.2 and 7.4, and it worked on both. PHP 8.1 didn’t work, but that may have been due to the numerous local configuration changes in my 8.1 setup.
