New install - send test mail failed

I have installed a LAMP ubuntu instance on AWS and install went fine, phpList is working, but when sending with default (assuming php mailer) it says “Sent test mail to: … FAILED”.

Do I have to install special modules for php for it to be able to send?

There may be some limitations on the ports you can use in AWS (from an ec2 instance). It’s something to check.
