"Initializing phpList in your Language" issue on phpList 3.5.9

Installed phpList 3.5.9 but after login, a POP says “Initializing phpList in your Language” and then it logs out in a fraction of secs. You briefly see the dashboard but goes back to login page

  • PHP version 7.4 (ea-php74),
  • MySQL version: 10.3.27-MariaDB - MariaDB Server

Is there anyone here who is experiencing this problem as well? phpList is automatically logging out in a second of login, with a pop-out message that says “Initializing phpList in your language, please wait”. Please help
