I tried phpList but moved to Outlook contact lists with bcc feature

I had problems with phpList which I wasn’t able to resolve even after consulting this forum. I therefore want to share with you a solution I came up with.

Outlook now has the bcc option for their contact list meaning that when you send an email to a group with this option activated, receivers cannot see the individual addresses the message has been sent to. This was my primary reason for wanting to use phpList in the first place. Perhaps this can be of use for some of you.

All fully-developed modern mail interfaces offer BCC support, because this is a decades-old feature. For a very narrow set of uses, this might be sufficient. It’s nowhere near the capabilities of a tool like phpList, though.

If you want to insert personalized content, BCC won’t help. If you want to give people the freedom to unsubscribe with a single click, BCC won’t help. If you want to automatically unsubscribe people who report your email as spam, BCC won’t help. If you want to get some approximate information about how many people opened your email, BCC won’t help. If you want to know how many (and which) people clicked a specific link, BCC won’t help. If you want to comply with various privacy laws and regulations, BCC won’t help.

Obviously, the list goes on. But if your goal is only to send in bulk without revealing who you are sending to, then BCC might suffice.
