What is Hacktoberfest?
Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean and DEV. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community. To participate, four pull requests must be submitted to public GitHub repositories. You can sign up anytime between October 1 and October 31.
How to participate?
The very first step is to register at hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com in order to keep track of your contributions. (You need to do this no matter to which project you will submit a PR, not only for phpList.) Once you are registered, browse the phpList open issues on GitHub that are labelled as “Hacktoberfest” and … start hacking! Issue #601 is a great example of a “Hacktoberfest issue”. Although, you can start hacking on every open issue on the phpList repos! It doesn’t have to be necessarily labelled “Hacktoberfest”.
