I’d be interested in the reply to this too, as I’m thinking of moving my phpList to a new server (or maybe using different software if the community forum here provides no answers).
This is relevant:
A server error (500) can be caused by many different things, including things unrelated to which PHP version you are using. “Error” by itself doesn’t give enough information. You need to find out what is triggering the error before you can start figuring out how to fix it.
The question “what is the problem” is what I would ask you. It can only be answered by you analyzing what is happening on your system (for example, by checking error logs). Once you know what is triggering the error, we might be able to help you fix it or determine if it is related to the PHP version.
Yup you need to look in the web server logs to track down what is causing the error.
In Filezilla, when I go to the logs folder, I can’t open and read the file error_log
…then maybe download it and open it in a text editor?
Yes, but the problem is that I can’t download it, it’s refused !
