This may be a silly question but I could´t find the answer…

I imported a few hundreds of emails using the file import function but forgot to select a list.

phplist imported the emails and did everything as usual but I can´t find the emails anywhere, they are not in the uncategorised list that should be the default I think,

seeing this mistake I imported the emails again, this time to the correct list but the system returned a message saying that no new emails were found on the list (the file) so I assume it imported the first time

Any idea on what may have happened? How could I assign these emails to a list?

If emails already exist in your database, and you import a file with the addresses to a new list, they will be added to the new list. No new subscribers will be created, because they are already in the system.
