I have found that with recent updates of CKEditor 8.1 and some earlier versions, my emails display wide, across the page, instead of 600px width I set them to. The setting to set the width of the email under settings, is also not there anymore.
I have therefore reverted to CKEditor plugin 6.9, but I know that is not a permanent fix.
Is there some setting I could perhaps tweak, or should I redo my templates, perhaps because some of the HTML is not recognised anymore?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
@Mailman99 Please add screenshots showing the problem.
Here is an example of what I am referring to. In the top section the email displays correctly, 600 pixels wide, while in the example below, with the newer plugin, it stretches across the page.
Here is an example of the settings previously where one could set the width.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you.
@Mailman99 So you are showing the final email being viewed in an email client such as gmail? I thought that you were referring to the width when editing the email in phplist.
The width and height settings affect the size of the window when editing so should not have any effect on what the final email looks like.
Does the problem happen in other email clients, such as Yahoo, or in a desktop client such as Outlook? Can you capture the raw html of each of the two emails then compare to see any differences?
The latest version of the plugin has a new setting “Disallow javascript”, which defaults to Yes. You could try changing that to No.
@duncanc Thank you for your help. The image I shared was the final emails in Outlook. I have not tested it in Yahoo, because it is frightening enough that it is not working in Outlook. I always edit my emails in other html editors, and then paste the html in PhpList. The constant factor is the plugin. 6.9 still works.
Changing the “Disallow javascript” to No, did not work. I also changed Allow messages to be edited as full HTML pages to Yes, but that did not change anything.
I also compared the html between the emails, but there were too many differences to count.
Here are the settings on 8.1 below
Hopefully, there is just something I am missing. Thank you for your help.
@Mailman99 Can you send me the html that you are copying into the editor, so that I can try to repeat the problem? Send me a private message by clicking on my image.
