Unsubscribe also unsubscribes list owner PHPList V 3.2.4

When a list user unsubscribes from a mailing, this also unsubscribes list owner in PHPList V 3.2.4

Hi

Can you detail this more, like in a very precise way… this sounds totally bonkers so if your serious we need to like fix that! (But I would be surprised!)

I have just run a quick test and I can’t replicate this under basic circumstances. sub-admin, one subscriber. What happened exactly @johnjolowe ?

The exact message is below. Names are changed for privacy. The list owner’s
email was blacklisted when someone unsubscribed from the list. PHPList
version 3.2.4

You’d need to post some text rather than just an image, as the error says, your message is too short. I think the same happens if someone tries to quote some thing without saying anything else.

I did post text. It was no accepted. Perhaps because it contains links ??

I’m trying to post message again:

Subject: Goodbye from our Newsletter
To: listowner@listownerdomain.ca

Goodbye from our Newsletter, sorry to see you go.

You have been unsubscribed from our newsletters.

This is the last email you will receive from us. We have added you to our
"do not send list", which means that our newsletter system, phpList, will
not send you any further messages, without manual intervention by our
administrator.

If there is an error in this information, you can re-subscribe:
please go to http://subdomain.blahwoof.ca/lists/?p=subscribe

and follow the steps.

And this is sent to the list owner? odd… I can’t replicate this issue

This is sent to the list owner and she is unsubscribed.

@johnjolowe If you look at the subscriber history for both the person who unsubscribed and for the list owner, that might shed some light (view subscriber details, then History then Subscription tab).

There should be a couple of entries for each - added to blacklist, and unsubscribed. Are the times of the events for the unsubscriber and the list owner the same?

What is the background to this? Has the problem always happened or have you only just noticed? Is it a new installation of phplist or have you just upgraded to 3.2.4?
