Error on install

I am installing the latest phplist version on a debian machine
php 5.4

My install errors when I try to visit the install page:
http://www.eco2.ca/phplist/public_html/lists/admin/

I get an error that says:
Database error 1146 while doing query Table ‘c2phplist2.phplist_config’ doesn’t exist
Database error 1146 while doing query Table ‘c2phplist2.phplist_admin’ doesn’t exist

I ftp’d the files to the server.
I added the db name, user name and password (double checked this)
It is on localhost

With the given error, might anyof you have an idea?

This is normal, you simply need to initialise the database prior to first use.

Use the link shown to initialise your database on your eco2 link.

I did pont my browser to that link to initialise, and that is when the error is displayed.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Can you not see the link on the url you give in your inital post?

Just click it to initialise your database.

You have copied the wrong directory. The ‘lists’ directory should be the top level.

I reread the instructions, and I moved too much.

I only moved what was inside the “Lists” folder.

I added the right info to the config file.
I created a new data bade.

I still get errors:

I did get an error to make index.php the defalult. I changed the name fo the index.html file.

Yes, you’ve done everything right, just one more step to go.

Visit http://www.eco2.ca/phplist/admin and click the link to Initialise the database, let phpList do it’s job and then you can log in to the admin pages and carry on setting it up.
